What is Restorative Dentistry?

Restorative dentistry focuses on repairing dental problems and improving functionality, allowing you to eat, talk, and smile more confidently. We offer a range of treatment options, which can be used individually or combined for greater effect.

Porcelain Crowns

Porcelain crowns are customized covers that fully cap a damaged tooth that cannot be repaired with a filling, inlay, or onlay. The restoration is designed to match the natural shade, bite, and grooves of your teeth, giving it durability for comfortable eating. The crown will function and feel just like your original tooth.

Porcelain Fixed Bridges

This restoration option can replace several missing teeth in a row while eliminating the hassle of cleaning a removable bridge. A porcelain fixed bridge can help maintain your facial contours and complete your smile.

Porcelain Inlays and Inlays

Inlays and onlays are similar to fillings and crowns, but they are useful when tooth damage is too extensive for a normal filling but does not warrant a crown. An inlay covers the gap left by decay, and does not require reshaping of the surrounding teeth to make room. Onlays are similar to inlays, but they cap the cusp or ridge of a tooth to strengthen the tooth wall.

Soft Tissue Grafting

For patients suffering from gum recession or those who desire a more aesthetic gum line, we offer soft tissue grafting. In this procedure, tissue is taken from the roof of your mouth or surrounding gum tissue and repositioned.

Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening treatment can be used before placing dental crowns or in addressing a gummy smile. This option can benefit patients whose teeth are covered by excess gum tissue or whose gum line is more prominent than desired. To expose more of the natural tooth so that it can support a dental crown or other restoration, Dr. Tucker can surgically remove some of the soft gum tissue, exposing more of the tooth.

Dental Implants and Bone Grafting

Dental implants serve as a replacement to tooth roots and teeth after tooth loss or extraction. For patients who qualify for dental implants but whose jaw bone is not sufficient to support the implants, Dr. Tucker can perform a bone grafting procedure that transfers bone, either from another part of your body or from another source, to your jaw bone. This augments and strengthens the foundation for your dental implants, increasing the likelihood of success.

Restore Your Smile Today

For greater precision and convenience, our practice now uses the NOMAD Pro handheld x-ray system, intraoral cameras, and digital panoramic imaging. Additionally, we use Spectra, a laser fluorescence detector for early detection of surface cavities. To ensure patient comfort, Dr. Tucker provides nitrous oxide and conscious sedation options. If you are suffering from the effects of missing teeth, gum recession, or teeth compromised by decay, we want to be part of your solution.
